<h2>¿Qué son los GeoTIFF optimizados para la nube (COG)?<a class="headerlink" href="#what-are-cloud-optimized-geotiffs-cogs" title="Enlace permanente a este encabezado"></a></h2>
<p>Los GeoTIFF optimizados en la nube (en adelante, COG) son una formulación especial de archivos GeoTIFF que aprovechan las vistas generales internas, así como el mosaico (y varias formas de compresión).</p>
<p>En el caso de WebODM, todos los GeoTIFF se generarán como COG porque la Vista de mapa 2D utiliza los atributos especiales de los COG para permitir una visualización rápida y una vista previa de los datos generados por WebODM.</p>

<p>Los COG son más apropiados cuando el GeoTIFF se va a alojar en línea y / o acceder a él mediante un programa que puede aprovechar las solicitudes HTTP GetRange y/o las vistas generales y los mosaicos internos.</p>

<h2>¿Por qué uno usaría COG?<a class="headerlink" href="#why-would-one-use-cogs" title="Enlace permanente a este encabezado"></a></h2>
<p>La estructura COG (visiones generales internas y en mosaico) permite una visualización rápida de los datos en programas que son capaces de leer información en mosaico y descripciones generales (la mayoría del software GIS [QGIS, etc.]). Esta ventaja es válida tanto si el archivo está alojado en línea como si no y se sirve a través de HTTP o si se almacena localmente.</p>
<p>Con estas características en su lugar, un COG debería mostrarse mucho más rápidamente en una aplicación determinada que un GeoTIFF con formato heredado sin descripciones generales y estructura rayada.</p>
