brianharvey 954b2f828f Fixes from summit meeting 
I'm sure I've forgotten something...
1. Braces instead of arrows.
2. Fix the bug about non-unique ~ or }
3. Fix the jiggle when submenu reopened.
4. Respond to Jens review in github.
4a. Get rid of Boolean arg to popup.

Not done: find another home for doubleClickAction.  Maybe later.
