I don't know that StarOffice is using Sane. I leapt to that<br>
conclusion, I'm afraid. However, if it makes any difference, the<br>
scanning frontend identifies my scanner as "umax:/dev/scanner"<br>
just as xsane does. Is this format generic or unique to SANE?<br>
<p>
As for the TWAIN, StarOffice was ported to Linux. I think that<br>
OS/2 might have been the native platform (not that OS/2 has much<br>
in the way of TWAIN). I was thinking that TWAIN may simply be<br>
StarOffices internal default reference to the scanner driver,<br>
irrespective of platform.<br>
