Hi,

I'm new to this list, so this may be a simple and obvious list of questions.
I'm busy adding support for RICOH scanners in the NetBSD code (pint).
I'm close to finishing it (at least for my own scanner, a RS-632 aka
RICOH-IS60, on which I can test my code). It should eventually work for:

Ricoh IS50, IS60, FS1 and IS410 scanners. And might work relatively ok
for scanners that stick to the scsi-scanner standard relatively well.

I've got a couple of questions:

1. How do I send in little patches for SANE to support these scanners
(it only needs to recognize some ID-strings).

2. Are there people out there, that have a Ricoh scanner and are willing
to test my code on NetBSD?

3. I'm considering to start working on a proper SANE backend for Ricoh
scanners, when I finish the PINT code. Could you give me some pointers
to information I need to write a SANE backend, and in addition give
me an indication on how much work that would be?

4. If anybody has technical information on Ricoh scanners (that's outside
the SCSI standard) not covered by a NDA, I'd really like to know about
it. I askedd Ricoh for info, but they require to sign an NDA which'll
prohibit free distribution of code I base on that info... So, I've
followed the path of reverse-engineering and trial-and error and such
(does anybody of you have the tools and skills to reverse-engineer
a Win'95/NT TWAIN driver??? ;-} )

Thanks for your patience and such...
