Hi,

I just subscribed to the list. I have what is most certainly a
Frequently Asked Question.

I'm a BeOS developer, writing scanner drivers according to an API
called ScannerBe that was created by Jim Moy.

It's a different API than SANE, and the code I'm writing is under contract
to a commercial vendor who will sell it as their product, so it won't be
GPL'ed so I shouldn't use the SANE sources.

However, I have found some documentation mentioned on the site that has
been helpful, for example a URL to the Umax scanner protocol.

My friend has a Mustek SCSI scanner to lend me, so I'd like to write a
Mustek driver now. I've got an HP driver basically working, and an Apple
Color OneScanner part way there.

Does anyone know if the doc for the Mustek scanner is online?

I'll call Mustek in the morning.

Pointers to documentation for any brand of scanner is appreciated, or to
the scanner manufacturers developer support if I have to get it direct from
them - some manufacturers require a nondisclosure.

I will summarize and repost where everything can be found, if you like.

Info on the BeOS can be found at http://www.be.com

Regards,
