Hallo everybody!

I don't know if this is the right place for my problem. If not, please
guide me!

In addition to my Adaptec aha 2940au (an old one with a "normal" PROM
Firmware 1.21) I plugged in another SCSI-Card. This one is an even older
one: Tekram DC800B Firmware 1.07. It is detected as an aha1542.

The machine boots just fine except: the aha1542-module won't load
automatically. But that's no (big) problem, because at this controller
is just one device connected: Mustek MFS-12000SP at ID 6.

When I load the module, everything is just fine:

# modprobe aha1542
Configuring Adaptec (SCSI-ID 7) at IO:330, IRQ 11, DMA priority 5
scsi1 : Adaptec 1542
scsi : 2 hosts
Vendor: SCANNER Model: Rev: 1.11
Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: 01 CCS
# scanimage --list-devices
Detected scsi generic sge at scsi1, channel 0, id 6, lun 0
device 'mustek:/dev/scanner' is a Mustek MFS-12000SP flatbed scanner
device 'mustek:/dev/sge' is a Mustek MFS-12000SP flatbed scanner
# scanimage -d mustek:/dev/sge
Bad segment list supplied to aha1542.c (1, 0)
0: c07b8000 1 0
cptr c02c7000: 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 a0 7d c0 00 00 00 00
00 10 00 00 <0>
Kernel panic: Foooooooood fight!

Then I have to press the reset-Button to reboot and all partitions have
to be checked.

It HAS something to do with resources, but where do I have to start
looking for the solution?

In a "Tekram-only-system" the same Scanner works fine!

Thanks in advance

 Martin

BTW: Does anybody have a firmware >1.21 for an adaptec aha2940au (with
an EProm, not Flash-Prom!)???
