I don't think this is terribly relevant to SANE these days though. In<br>
|
||
theory SANE provides an API which could be used for digital stills,<br>
|
||
but the way these cameras work isn't well suited to SANE's current<br>
|
||
design. Since the gPhoto project has many cameras documented and<br>
|
||
supported, with an interface which is better suited to cameras than<br>
|
||
SANE's -- I say wish them the best of luck and add a pointer from the<br>
|
||
SANE homepage for camera users to <a href="http://www.gphoto.org/">http://www.gphoto.org/</a><br>
|
||
<p>
|
||
There might (now? eventually?) be cameras being used in a setting which<br>
|
||
makes SANE the right API for them, and we should try to cater for these.<br>
|
||
In particular I'm thinking of cameras permanently attached to a PC<br>
|
||
for high-resolution stills. These would likely work a lot more like a<br>
|
||
scanner, especially if they're comparatively slow.<br>
