Aha! I just noticed this note on the list:<br>

I have an Advansys SCSI card, and it has worked fine with both the Microtek<br>
|
|
E6 and my Travan tape drive under Windows 3.1, but I have had problems with<br>
|
|
both devices under Linux (with large files written to tape, or large scans,<br>
|
|
there are some garbled bytes. This was true both before and after I changed<br>
|
|
the default 32768 bytes buffer size in the generic SCSI device). It looks<br>
|
|
very much like the Advansys SCSI driver for Linux is bad. This is<br>
|
|
unfortunate since Advansys actually lists "Linux" as a supported OS on<br>
|
|
their retail boxes. Hmph! Back to the store, I guess.<br>
|
|
