Could someone please add this to the FAQ (or is it there already ?) ... !<br>

TWAIN has nothing to do with any kind of standard for hardware access.<br>
|
|
<p>
|
|
TWAIN is basically an API allowing a program to ask the scanner driver<br>
|
|
to acquire an image. All the rest is left to the driver. Including making <br>
|
|
up the API. And as DOS/Win/MAC TWAIN drivers cannot be run on Unix normally,<br>
|
|
the mark "TWAIN-compliant" is no use at all for us.<br>
|
|
<p>
|
|
The naming of SANE is not purely coincidential ... ;-).<br>
|
