So is it possible to do a 'ldd staroffice' or something?<br>

Another way to understand if staroffice use your current SANE<br>
|
||
Installation or it has built-in support is to cripple your SANE<br>
|
||
installation.<br>
|
||

||
For example you can comment out all scanners but pnm on your dll.conf,<br>
|
||
or delete/rename the relevant backend from you sanelib directory and<br>
|
||
check what staroffice reports.<br>
