having not contributed to this mailing list yet I'd like to introduce<br>
|
||
myself: my name is Jens Scheithauer and I am working as a Software<br>
|
||
Engineer in SCOs European Development Centre in Watford, UK. <br>
|
||

||
I've started to do a port of sane-1.0.1 to SCO UnixWare 7.1. Most of the<br>
|
||
changes went into sanei_scsi.c. I've mainly added code to the<br>
|
||
sanei_scsi_open and sanei_scsi_cmd functions to call UnixWares SCSI<br>
|
||
passthrough library functions. I also had to add a couple of lines to<br>
|
||
ltconfig and config.sub in order to get the configure scripts to recognise<br>
|
||
the OS. I'm not entirely sure about these config related changes. I'd<br>
|
||
appreciate it if somebody could take a look to make sure that they don't<br>
|
||
break anything. A tar archive with the files I've changed can be<br>
|
||
downloaded from ftpput.sco.com/tmp/sane. <br>
|
||

||
I've tried out different SCSI scanners (HP ScanJet, UMAX S6E/610s), and<br>
|
||
they all worked like a charm, thanks to the great work of you folks! I<br>
|
||
haven't tried any parallel scanners yet but I don't expect them to work<br>
|
||
'out of the box'. The net backend is something else that doesn't work yet<br>
|
||
but I hope to sort that out soon. <br>
|
||
<p>
|
||
There will be a binary distribution of sane available, which will be part<br>
|
||
of SCOs Open License Software Supplement (formerly known as Skunkware).<br>
|
||
This supplement is basically a collection of open source software and<br>
|
||
freeware products that have been compiled for either SCO OpenServer or<br>
|
||
UnixWare. The url to the Skunkware home page is:<br>
|
||
