>>>>> On Sun, 22 Jun 1997 14:25:26 +0200 (MEST), Guenther Beulshausen <Guenther.Beulshausen@stud.uni-hannover.de> said:

Guenther> Sane 0.6 itself works fine with my UMAX S-12 now (Thanks
Guenther> to Gordon!), but when I want to use xscanimage with gimp
Guenther> 0.99.10 I always get the following output, when gimp is
Guenther> scanning the plugins:

Guenther> [snip..]
Guenther> /usr/local/lib/gimp/0.99.10/plug-ins/xscanimage: illegal option -- g
Guenther> [snip..]

Guenther> After this message the gimp-startup hangs and need to be
Guenther> killed. Does anybody know the solution for this problem?

Looks like xscanimage got compiled without GIMP support (see
HAVE_LIBGIMP_GIMP_H in include/sane/config.h). Without that support,
xscanimage won't recognize the -gimp option that GIMP is feeding it.

Does your system have libgimp/gimp.h installed in a strange place
(/usr/local/include should work fine, for example)?
