<P> just to let you know that I solved my "scanner scans only garbage"

problem. What I had overlooked was that somewhere between the 2.4.1 and

||

||
2.4.5 kernels the aic7xxx driver has been replaced by something "new".
|
||

||
<P>This "new" thing seems to be the source of all my trouble (I'll
|
||
<BR>
|
||
contact the author/s in a separate mail); switching to "aic7xxx_old"
|
||
<BR>
|
||
in the kernel config did the job.
|
