I installed redhat 7.0 and upgraded the kernel to 2.4 so everything was a
fresh installation so there was no sane previously to uninstall, when I
give scanimage -L it prints nothing. it goes to the command prompt.

> > Hi

> > Friends,

> >

> > I have upgraded my kernel from 2.2.14 to 2.4.0-test6, and also I have

> > installed the sane rpm (sane-1.0.3-2.i386.rpm), when I try xscanimage I

> > get the following errors

> > xscanimage is a gimp plug-in and must be run by the gimp to be used

> This can be ignored.

> > xscanimage: no devices available.

> >

> > Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkmain.c: line 534 (gtk_main_quit): assertion

> > `main_loops != NULL' failed.

> >

> > What could be the reason, my scanner is hp6350C, what is missing. can

> > somebody help me out on this.

>

> The reason is that no devices are found.

> What does

>

> scanimage -L

>

> print?

>

> Did you uninstall a possibly existing old sane version before you intalled

> the new one?
