Hi !

> I have two Logitech Scanmans here (hand-held scanners), and I am wondering
> if anyone out there is developing a driver for them... I have heard
> rumors that a driver for them is being developed... Is it true?

No. The driver exits. Look at my personal webpage or any decent Linux
mirror. Sunsite and tsx both should have a logiscan kernel module driver.

The driver needs to be a kernel module, as the logi scanner uses a proprietary
interface board that needs IRQ and DMA.

> If so, I would like to assist in testing it.

Check it out if you like.

Please note, that this driver is unsupported, as I do not have the hardware
anymore.

Also note, that the driver only works for the ScanMan32 and 256 series, and
not for the ScanMan Color, though I have been told, that changes should be
pretty trivial.

Someone porting LHII to SANE would also be very welcome. It _is_ easy. I
know it. But I can't do it, as I can't test it and have no time.

I would really be nice, if someone finally _did_ that for a change.
Many people said they wanted it, some said they'd do it, noone ever finished
it. If some day I find myself bored, I'll probably do it "blindly", but as
long as I got something else to do, I will do that.
I still offer my assistance to anyone who tries, though ...

CU, ANdy
