>
> I'll take a closer look at the sourcecode to see why this happens
> and if I can write a workaround that sorts the data back into
> order. (I will tell you when I got something).
>
Well what should I say. It works now and after I removed most changes
I tried I'm almost where I started. I think I should list what's left
just in case someone with the same problem wants to use it as a
checklist:
1. I removed the option_linedistance_fix in the config file.
AFAIR the only reason I inserted it in the first place
was that the (0.74) driver hang in an endless loop without it.
The (pre) 1.00 driver works perfectly in this respect and
after I've gone through the driver source I can tell for sure that
this option was the cause of the trouble and is a must-not for
Mustek Paragon rev>=1.02.
(OTOH it is a must-have and set automatically for rev<1.02. In fact
they seem to be two different types of scanners.)
2. I installed the (pre) 1.00 Mustek driver. I did not modify it.
3. I power-cycled the scanner. (I don't believe it makes any
difference - but hey, it's just one switch away so why waste a
thought on figuring that out ;-) ).
So I guess the "color fails?" can be removed from the supported
scanners list. Color works for me now :-).
