Hi, I hope not to be a pain, but :<br>

I just boughta brand new Mustek Scanexpress 12000SP, known to work <br>
|
|
according to a local magazine.<br>
|
|
I have RedHat 5.1 Intel, full install, out of the box.<br>
|
|
I installed the sane-0.74-3.i386.rpm, and information related to a <br>
|
|
scanner in dmesg looks like this :<br>
|
|

|
|
[root@ecrehous /root]# dmesg | grep SCANNER<br>
|
|
Vendor: SCANNER Model: Rev: 2.00<br>
|
|

|
find-scanner gives this :<br>

device `pnm:0' is a Noname PNM file reader virtual device<br>

and then xscanimage, when launched, shows a dialog window with only pnm0 and <br>
|
|
pnm1 ... I'm in trouble ... what the hell could I try ?<br>

I have :<br>

tried to deinstall then reinstall rpm package<br>
|
|
-> nope<br>
|
|
tried to recompile<br>
|
|
-> nope<br>
|
|
tried to recompile + patches found at www.math.TU-BERLIN.de/fonktion/bolsch/sane<br>
|
|
-><br>
|
|
tried to create s symlink /dev/sane to /dev/sgc<br>
|
|
-><br>
|
|
[root@ecrehous /root]# ln -s /dev/sgc /dev/scanner<br>
|
|
[root@ecrehous /root]# find-scanner<br>
|
|
find-scanner: found scanner "SCANNER 2.00" at device /dev/scanner<br>
|
|
find-scanner: found scanner "SCANNER 2.00" at device /dev/sgc<br>
|
|
[root@ecrehous /root]# scanimage -L<br>
|
|
... wiats forever ...<br>
|
|
