>>>>> On Thu, 04 Jun 1998 23:11:59 +0200, Ingo Witzky <ingo.witzky@kassel.netsurf.de> said:

Ingo> Hello. I have a problem. I have the "Mustek 600 II CD "
Ingo> One-Pass-SCSI-scanner. His scsi-name is "SCANNER" his
Ingo> firmware is "2.03" !!! (SCSI-ID: "SCANNER 2.03") He is on
Ingo> device "/dev/sg0" !!! I use the Debian 1.3.1 Distribution of
Ingo> Linux !!! Sane was compiled without any failuremessages. My
Ingo> "xscanimage" runs rigt but don't scan like under Windows 95
Ingo> the real Twain-program !!!

That's a lot of bangs for one paragraph. ;-)

Ingo> Problem: My Preview scans the preview in 11 parts. Even in
Ingo> monochrome Mode ! Is there a possibility to make this Preview
Ingo> in one Part like under Windows ?? He only scans Parts of less
Ingo> than one inch at the real scan, but i have put into the
Ingo> mustek.conf to scan a strip-hight of 5 inches !!!! He scans
Ingo> only 0.5 inch and then he goes back a little bit and scans the
Ingo> next 0.5 inch !!! Under Windows he scans the whole Page with
Ingo> only 5 parts !!!!

Please read the man page sane-mustek(5). It talks about this.
Particularly the option "strip-height" should be of interest to you.
Also, you might want to increase the size of the sg-scsi buffer (see
sanei-scsi(5)).

Ingo> What can I do to solve this problem and what must I do to
Ingo> configure xscanimage so that he only uses the Mustek Scanner
Ingo> and don't show me the Device pnm:0 and pnm:1 ????

Read sane-dll(5). You'll probably want to comment out all lines in
dll.conf except for "mustek".

Ingo> P.S.: Excuse me for bad English !!!! I'm German !!!

Your English is fine, but you may want to avoid ending each sentence
with a bang. Few people like being shouted at.
