the other choices when I log on as a user. I can only scan when logged<br>
|
|
on as root and only with the micotek:/dev/scanner. This is sane-0.72<br>
|
|
running under Slackware 3.3 with kernel 2.0.33.<br>

The Obvious Question: what are the permissions of the scanner device?<br>
|
|
(The device itself, not the "/dev/scanner" symbolic link.)<br>
|
|

It sounds like you have not allowed yourself, as a regular user, to access<br>
|
|
the device....<br>
