Hello,

I am writing a little routine that reads /proc/scsi/scsi
and tries to find out on which device the scanner is connected.

In linux, it is relative simple:
The first device is /dev/sg0 or /dev/sga,
the second is /dev/sg1 or /deb/sgb
and so on.

Can anybody tell me how this works on other systems?

If that works for all systems that support /proc/scsi/scsi,
I plan to include this routine into sane. Then you can
enter the vendor and model instead of the device in the
config file of your backend.

Thanks for your answers!

Little test-routine will follow if I know more about other systems!

Bye
Oliver
