> I also have an Adaptec 2940UW that I could try to connect the scanner to,
> but I'd rather not since I have to get a complicated cable for this (the
> 2940 has a 68-pin UW connector, the scanner has a DB25). And I don't want
> to mess up the high-speed drives on the 2940, either. Would it work or
> would it suck, and would I have the same problems?

Well, I have my Umax running on a Buslogic BT-946C without any trouble. But,
even here, you need to get a special cable (from 50pin SCSI-connector to the
DB25). As for putting the scanner on a WideSCSI controller, I can't tell you
much, but it should work without trouble as well. Still I can follow your
reasoning not to attach the controller to the Adaptec, I have the scanner on
that Buslogic, while my harddisks (RAID5) are on a DPT, which I wouldn't like
to burden with the scanner... ;)
