I'am thinking of buying a flatbed scanner for my laptop and have just come<br>
|
|
across sane. With a laptop the best option looks to be a scanner with<br>
|
|
a parallel port. Now the UMAX Astra 600p is very keenly priced and would<br>
|
|
be my first choice.<br>
|
|
<p>
|
|
I realize that there is currently no backend for this scanner, so I would<br>
|
|
have to write my own. This is no problem as long as UMAX will give out the<br>
|
|
technical info. As their are backends for other UMAX scanners does this<br>
|
|
mean UMAX will release the necessary info to me? Does anyone on this list have <br>
|
|
a contact email address at UMAX?<br>
|
|
