Andy> I think you got him wrong ... what he wants to do (?? !! ;-)
Andy> is to write a WinSock based Network-Client for NetSANE servers
Andy> which acts as a TWAIN-Library to Windows. It wouldn't be
Andy> easy, as building GUIs on-the-fly is not easy in Win, but ...

Oops, you're right. Not good to respond to mails before the first
coffee... ;-)

Andy> This would be _very_ nice to have. We could make the Win
Andy> people aware of SANE.

Andy> The only thing we would have to do is to talk some WebCam
Andy> operators into using SANE. It would allow the users to set
Andy> the parameters themselves ...

I certainly would welcome such a Windows frontend for SANE, though
personally, I'm more excited about a Java frontend (yes, I like the
idea of controlling a camera via a web browser... ;-).

Either way: doing the frontend should not be that hard---it's not a
trivial project, but I'd hope that much of the logic could be taken
from gtkglue.c---everything else is pretty much trivial (assuming the
right "widgets" exist).
