The latest release fixes the silly strndup() problem some of you have<br>
|
|
run into. I don't know what happened---I built sane-0.5 on two<br>
|
|
different Linux/x86 systems and it worked fine as long as I didn't<br>
|
|
build without shared libs (which I didn't do until after the release<br>
|
|
;-( ). Anyhow, 0.51 should take care of this.<br>
|
|
<p>
|
|
0.51 also has a workaround for the qcam backend that makes the<br>
|
|
blacklevel setting work reliably. More important, IMHO, however is<br>
|
|
that xscan now supports displaying the device options' help strings in<br>
|
|
the form of tooltips (aka balloon help). I really like this feature<br>
|
|
(since it should help getting novices started), but you can of course<br>
|
|
turn it off through the Preferences menu if you wish. The only<br>
|
|
downside: you now really have to get the gtk toolkit in the sane<br>
|
|
directory.<br>
|
