So, if I were to document this:

automatic scanner detection is dependant upon kernel and backend
support of /proc/scsi/scsi. (The light just went on in my head,
and I'm guessing /proc/scsi/scsi is mostly a linux kernal 2.x thing?)

What is the best way to determine which backends support this feature.
I realize that the "neccessity" for the /dev/scanner link was optional in the
past, but it made installation a bit more consistant. Thanks for the
input.

Does OS/2 support the /proc stuff? I haven't messed with OS/2 in Warp3.
