• The GIMP is what makes XSane and xscanimage a truly fun program.
• sane-troubleshoot tries to find out what's wrong with your SANE installation. So if your scanner is not detected (but is supported) you may want to try sane-troubleshoot.
• Primax for Linux is a stand alone scanner driver for Primax scanners. There also is a primax driver that implements the server side of the SANE-network-interface, so that sane-net can talk to the driver. NOTE that this driver does not work as a sane backend.
• TkScan is a graphical interface to scanimage and some older scan programs. It supports only some specific scanners but may be helpful in special cases anyway.
