Threshold

Hi,

how is the threshold (for lineart scans) normally defined?

1) threshold=0 => all black, threshold=100% => all white
or
2) threshold=0 => all white, threshold=100% => all black

For umax scanners it is 2) what is the opposite of a
brightness selection. How is this for other scanners defined
and how should this be defined in a frontend?

I would prefer a selection that does work like a brightness
(high values => bright picture), but when it is defined the other
way around I will implement that way.
