Yes, this question comes up periodically. The short answer: TWAIN<br>
|
||
|
essentially depends on a graphical user interface, which makes it<br>
|
||
|
difficult/impossible to run below the SANE api (which separates the<br>
|
||
|
user-interface from the device controls). If interested in the TWAIN<br>
|
||
|
details, see <a href="http://www.twain.org/">http://www.twain.org/</a>.<br>

||

What would be possible is to implement a TWAIN-SANE bridge, but I<br>
|
||
|
don't think that's very interesting.<br>
