On Fri, 12 Feb 1999, you wrote:
>> Hello all. I am trying to install my HP 5P scanner under Slackware 3.6
>> kernel 2.2.1. I dont know which scsi device to build into my kernel for
>> support for this card. The scsi card in the machine is a Symbolis Logic
>> 53C416. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

>The SANE scanner support has nothing to do with your kernel, except of
>course that it uses the kernel to access the scsi bus. You should build
>the kernel for your scsi bus and then check to
>http://www.mostang.com/sane/ to check if your scanner is actually
>supported.

I haven't been able to find any kernel support for this scsi card; plenty of
support for its cousins, 57cxxx and 58cxxx, but not this one.

I'd be delighted to hear a contradiction:-)
