I've just joined this list, so please excuse any 'newbie' type remarks.<br>
|
|||

|
We have in the past had an Agfa Arcus Plus scanner attached to a Sparc 2 <br>
|
|||
|
|
machine running SunOS. We apparently had some software to drive this. The sun <br>
|
|||
|
|
has now died, and all of our current machines are running Solaris. The old <br>
|
|||
|
|
software will not run on the Solaris machines (according to our sysadmin). As <br>
|
|||
|
|
such, I'm looking for a new method for using this scanner. We are currently <br>
|
|||
|
|
chasing up pricing on some commercial software, but I was wondering how easy <br>
|
|||
|
|
it would be to use 'SANE' for the job. From reading some of the docs, it looks <br>
|
|||
|
|
like it's not directly supported, but there are some comments indicating that <br>
|
|||
|
|
it may not be too difficult to add support for this scanner (i.e. it may be <br>
|
|||
|
|
similar to ones for which support is already available).<br>
|
|||
|
|
<p>
|
|||
|
|
Does anyone have any advice/suggestions/hints before I delve into this <br>
|
|||
|
|
further??<br>
|
