[Sabnzbd](http://sabnzbd.org/) makes Usenet as simple and streamlined as possible by automating everything we can. All you have to do is add an .nzb. SABnzbd takes over from there, where it will be automatically downloaded, verified, repaired, extracted and filed away with zero human interaction.

## Supported Architectures
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2019-08-31 18:58:06 +00:00
Our images support multiple architectures such as `x86-64`, `arm64` and `armhf`. We utilise the docker manifest for multi-platform awareness. More information is available from docker [here](https://github.com/docker/distribution/blob/master/docs/spec/manifest-v2-2.md#manifest-list) and our announcement [here](https://blog.linuxserver.io/2019/02/21/the-lsio-pipeline-project/).
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2020-11-02 15:03:29 +00:00
Simply pulling `ghcr.io/linuxserver/sabnzbd` should retrieve the correct image for your arch, but you can also pull specific arch images via tags.
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
The architectures supported by this image are:
| Architecture | Tag |
| :----: | --- |
| x86-64 | amd64-latest |
| arm64 | arm64v8-latest |
2019-03-24 23:20:38 +00:00
| armhf | arm32v7-latest |
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
## Version Tags
This image provides various versions that are available via tags. `latest` tag usually provides the latest stable version. Others are considered under development and caution must be exercised when using them.
| Tag | Description |
| :----: | --- |
| latest | Stable SABnzbd releases |
2020-08-19 15:59:36 +00:00
| unstable | Pre-releases from their GitHub |

## Application Setup
Initial setup is done from the http port.
Https access for sabnzbd needs to be enabled in either the intial setup wizard or in the configure settings of the webui, be sure to use 9090 as port for https.
See here for info on some of the switch settings for sabnzbd https://sabnzbd.org/wiki/configuration/2.3/switches .

### Download folders
In Sabnzbd gui settings, under `Folders`, make sure to set the `Completed Download Folder` as `/downloads` and the `Temporary Download Folder` as `/incomplete-downloads`
We have set `/incomplete-downloads` and `/downloads` as ***optional paths***, this is because it is the easiest way to get started. While easy to use, it has some drawbacks. Mainly losing the ability to hardlink (TL;DR a way for a file to exist in multiple places on the same file system while only consuming one file worth of space), or atomic move (TL;DR instant file moves, rather than copy+delete) files while processing content.
Use the optional paths if you dont understand, or dont want hardlinks/atomic moves.
The folks over at servarr.com wrote a good [write-up](https://wiki.servarr.com/Docker_Guide#Consistent_and_well_planned_paths) on how to get started with this.

## Usage
2021-07-02 10:09:08 +00:00
To help you get started creating a container from this image you can either use docker-compose or the docker cli.

## Parameters
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
Docker images are configured using parameters passed at runtime (such as those above). These parameters are separated by a colon and indicate `<external>:<internal>` respectively. For example, `-p 8080:80` would expose port `80` from inside the container to be accessible from the host's IP on port `8080` outside the container.
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
### Ports (`-p`)
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
| Parameter | Function |
| :----: | --- |
| `8080` | HTTP port for the WebUI. |
| `9090` | HTTPS port for the WebUI. |
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
### Environment Variables (`-e`)
| Env | Function |
| :----: | --- |
2019-03-02 19:58:00 +00:00
| `PUID=1000` | for UserID - see below for explanation |
| `PGID=1000` | for GroupID - see below for explanation |
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
| `TZ=Europe/London` | Specify a timezone to use EG Europe/London. |
### Volume Mappings (`-v`)
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
| Volume | Function |
| :----: | --- |
| `/config` | Local path for sabnzbd config files. |
| `/downloads` | Local path for finished downloads. |
| `/incomplete-downloads` | Local path for incomplete-downloads. |
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2020-05-30 18:58:22 +00:00
## Environment variables from files (Docker secrets)
You can set any environment variable from a file by using a special prepend `FILE__`.
As an example:
2021-04-16 10:15:15 +00:00
```bash
2020-05-30 18:58:22 +00:00
-e FILE__PASSWORD=/run/secrets/mysecretpassword
```
Will set the environment variable `PASSWORD` based on the contents of the `/run/secrets/mysecretpassword` file.
## Umask for running applications
For all of our images we provide the ability to override the default umask settings for services started within the containers using the optional `-e UMASK=022` setting.
Keep in mind umask is not chmod it subtracts from permissions based on it's value it does not add. Please read up [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umask) before asking for support.
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
## User / Group Identifiers
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
When using volumes (`-v` flags), permissions issues can arise between the host OS and the container, we avoid this issue by allowing you to specify the user `PUID` and group `PGID`.
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
Ensure any volume directories on the host are owned by the same user you specify and any permissions issues will vanish like magic.
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2019-03-02 19:58:00 +00:00
In this instance `PUID=1000` and `PGID=1000`, to find yours use `id user` as below:
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
2021-04-16 10:15:15 +00:00
```bash
2019-02-12 14:36:12 +00:00
$ id username
2019-03-02 19:58:00 +00:00
uid=1000(dockeruser) gid=1000(dockergroup) groups=1000(dockergroup)
2019-02-11 18:03:03 +00:00
```
