[Tt-rss](https://tt-rss.org) is an open source web-based news feed (RSS/Atom) reader and aggregator, designed to allow you to read news from any location, while feeling as close to a real desktop application as possible.
Our images support multiple architectures such as `x86-64`, `arm64` and `armhf`. We utilise the docker manifest for multi-platform awareness. Docker images are configured using parameters passed at runtime (such as those above). These parameters are separated by a colon and indicate `<external>:<internal>` respectively. For example, `-p 8080:80` would expose port `80` from inside the container to be accessible from the host's IP on port `8080` outside the container.
When using volumes (`-v` flags), permissions issues can arise between the host OS and the container, we avoid this issue by allowing you to specify the user `PUID` and group `PGID`.
Ensure any volume directories on the host are owned by the same user you specify and any permissions issues will vanish like magic.
In this instance `PUID=1001` and `PGID=1001`, to find yours use `id user` as below:
You must create a user and database for tt-rss to use in a mysql/mariadb or postgresql server. A basic nginx configuration file can be found in /config/nginx/site-confs , edit the file to enable ssl (port 443 by default), set servername etc.. Self-signed keys are generated the first time you run the container and can be found in /config/keys , if needed, you can replace them with your own.
After you run the initial setup for this application from the `/install/` web directory a config.php will be generated inside the container. To have access to this file in /config/config.php you will need to restart the container using:

docker restart tt-rss
```
**The default username and password after initial configuration is admin/password**
## Power users
The container can configure itself using environment variables, the gaurd for this logic to run is if the variable `DB_TYPE` is set. The most common variables to set are a URL for the application and a database endpoint. IE:
Please note if you use this method you need to have an already initialized database endpoint. We do our best to ensure that anything in the config.php can be set via these environment variables.
