# Credits
It's important to note that contributions of code and documentation keep the
Hamlib project moving forward. Whether a contributor has 1 commit to their
credit or 2000 (Hi, Stéphane!), all have made an equally valuable contribution
simply by lending a hand to the project.
To get a sense of the number of contributors, the following command run from
the top level directory of the hamlib git clone will show the commits to each
author name:
```
git shortlog -s -n --all --no-merges
```
Some committers have used more than one name or when the import from CVS/SVN
was done years back an amateur radio callsign was applied to the author's name
(if known) for those prior commits. Subsequent commits using Git are often
shown credited to another name, so there is some duplication in the list.
GitHub has a [bit of interesting
analysis](https://github.com/Hamlib/Hamlib/graphs/contributors) that begins on
13 March 2011 until the present page view. That was the date that commits
began to be applied to the Git repository directly. Glancing through the list
shows at least one duplication, perhaps others. Regardless, the project
enjoys a fairly large list of contributors. Thanks!
